Who is suitable to be an Instructor?
Anyone can become an instructor as long as they can clearly demonstrate mastery of the subject they intend to teach and has a possion to teach.
What are the qualifications required to become an instructor?
The minimal qualification for the standard instructor role is Bachelor’s Degree from a reputatble university. However, we also offer Junior Instuctor role for undergraduates, as well as Study Companion role for those in Higher Secondary and JC/IP. Different instructor roles will command different program fees and will attract different segment of the students.
What subjects can an Instructor teach?
Any subject that can be effectively taught through Zoom, a digital whiteboard, or screen sharing is welcome on our platform. Contents that are unlawful, unauthorized, offensive, profane, harmful, or that undermines religious or racial harmony cannot be accepted.
What is the platform fee chargable?
The current platform fee rate is 8% based on the course sales, after deducting payment gateway charges and GST. Instructor takes a majority of the course proceeds. If there are refunds or cancellations, the prorated amounts shall be clawed back.
The pioneer team of Instructors who join now shall continue to enjoy this low platform fee perpetually, even if this fee rate is adjusted in future.
When is commission paid?
Commissions to Instuctors are calculated and paid once a month, in the last week of the month. Course fee collected are included in the commission calculation, regardless of the completion of the course. In other words, instuctors do not need to wait for students to finish a course to be paid. If there is any refund or cancellation, the commission portain for the refunded fees is clawed back subsequently.
How to arrange a trial lesson for a prospective student?
Instructor (or Educaid admin) can send the zoom link to prospective student to join a trial lesson when requested.
What are the technical requirements?
The following is a list of equipment required for instructor:
- Windows 11 computer (Apple Mac machines are currently not supported)
- Digital tablet (exact model to be advised upon onboarding)
- Webcam with 2megapixels tresolution
- A set of headphones or earphones with mic
- A stable internt connection of 100 Mbps or above
Instructors can purchase the equipment by themselves, through Educaid admin, or arrange an equipment rental service from Educaid.
Does Educaid provide teaching material and contents?
No, instructors are expected to prepare their teaching materials.
How to apply to be an instructor?
The onboarding process involves the following phases:
- Application
- Verification
- Contracting
- Profile creation
- Course creation

Is there a minimal contract period to be an instructor?
No. Instructor may stop teaching at any time; however, if there are enrolments, the instructor is expected to complete the course.
Will I be given training to teach?
We will provide teachnical training to use the equipment and software required for the online classes. Instructors have to prepare the teaching content by themselves.
What is expected of me as an instructor?
We treat every instructor as a professional educator, and expect a level of professionalism that reflects genuine expertise, respect for learners, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality instruction. Any actions or behaviours that are unlawful, dishonest, violate our policies, are unjust, or fall below basic moral and ethical standards are strictly unacceptable.
What are other duties beside teaching?
Instructors are expected to prepare all teaching materials before each lesson. They are also responsible for planning and updating their Zoom lesson schedules, responding to student questions, and posting comments or announcements when appropriate.
Where can I work from?
Instructors can work teir homes or from anywhere is the world (other than sanctioned countries) so long there is a condusive environment to conduct lessons, as well as stable internet connections.
Can instructors connect with their students directly?
Our platform has announcement and Q&A capabilities for instructors to reach to students for lesson-related communication. To keep to students’ privacy and safety, we do not collect students’ phone numbers, and it is our policy not to allow instructors to connect with students directly via other channels due to PDPA compliance.
Are instructors required to offer make-up classes for students who miss lessons?
Students are encouraged to attend all scheduled lessons. Generally, it is not our policy to offer make-up lessons. Howeverm Instructors can offer a make-up lessons if required.
What if an Instuctor miss a lesson?
Instuctor should arrange to offer make up lesson if a lesson cannot take place. Lesson postponement has to be arranged at least 3 hours before lesson time. Tardiness incidents—including no‑shows, late arrivals, or unplanned time‑outs by the instructor—are treated seriously. A penalty will be imposed for each such incident.
